36 Kindergarten Kids Get Hepatitis

A disease prevention and control official has been detained for alleged dereliction of duty that resulted in 36 kindergarten children being infected with hepatitis A in Henan Province.
Pingdingshan City People's Procuratorate has launched an investigation into the 48-year-old official surnamed Zhao, Dahe Daily reported yesterday.
Zhao headed the disease prevention and control work in Xindian Town where six kids at the Xiaoshuaicai kindergarten were diagnosed with hepatitis A on November 25.
Zhao failed to report the outbreak and take disease control measures, which resulted in the infection of 36 children, the report said.
