4 Yunnan coal miners die in cave-in accident
THE death toll of a coal mine collapse that happened yesterday afternoon in Yunnan Province, southwest China has risen to four, local officials confirmed this afternoon.
A tunnel in the Shuimichong Coal Mine in Qiubei County caved in around 1:30pm when four workers were working. Rescuers retrieved three bodies but the last one is still missing.
The four miners were all confirmed dead this morning, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The mine with an annual output capacity of 40,000 tons is licensed and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
