4 housing officials in Beijing reprimanded for chaos over pop diva Faye Wong’s visit

FOUR housing officials in Beijing were admonished by Beijing’s Party disciplinary watchdog after they were held responsible for causing a chaos due to the presence of pop diva Faye Wong.

The incident occurred on April 17 when Wong visited the Chaoyang District house ownership registration center for a personal matter.

As Wong showed up at the center, several officials left their seats even though many people were waiting in the queue. They asked for her autograph and took pictures with her.

Worse, the official who handled Wong’s case allowed people to take pictures of the star’s profile from the computer screen which eventually found its way on the Internet, leading to criticism of the officials.

Fan Mingyue, the center’s director, and three other officials, were given a heads-up for negligence of duty.
