4 killers nabbed in ransom murder of 10 prostitutes
FOUR fugitives have been apprehended in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for robbing ten call girls of millions of yuan, killing them with knife and dismembering their bodies.
They lured the victims to their rented houses for sex, then held them for ransom and murdered them after obtaining the ransoms. The gang, including a prostitute and three unemployed men, then buried the body parts in the field or just flushed them down the toilet.
After committing the gruesome crimes and robbing more than 2 million yuan (US$315,400) between 1998 and 2004, the four killers changed their identities and settled down in the remote Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, according to a report on www.dbw.cn yesterday.
Their crimes came to light in September 2002 when the body parts of two women blocked the toilet sewer in an apartment in Jilin City, Jilin Province and the discovery shocked the neighbors.
The gang escaped before police arrived and vanished without a trace afterwards, the report said.
Police found clues to their whereabouts three months ago and arrested them on November 2. They are now jailed in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province as investigation into their crimes continues.
