4 wives for fake officer
A MAN who pretended to be a military officer to swindle 400,000 yuan (US$61,550) from 12 women, including four he illegally married, has been detained by police in central China.
Using a fake military identification card and other false ID cards, Chen Fang, a former security guard, was able to romance 12 women, marry four, father three children and dig deep into their pockets over the past two years, yesterday's Xiaoxiang Morning Herald reported.
Chen married a woman identified as "Xiao Juan" using a fake military ID card which he bought last May. When she got pregnant, Chen left her and began dating another woman, "Xiao Yan," who gave birth to his daughter. He left her by saying he had been promoted and had to go to Beijing. In reality, he was dating other women.
Chen was caught after he told another woman he couldn't attend a family reunion because he had a car accident.
Worried, she got in touch with the police.
