41 porn Websites shut by authorities

CHINESE authorities said they have closed another 41 porn Websites in a national campaign to eradicate lewd content from the Internet.
China Internet Illegal Information Reporting Center investigated the Websites after tip-offs from the public, the center said over the weekend.
These Websites included "3721 Mei Tu." Thirteen were operating without a permit from the authorities.
The move is the latest in a string of crackdowns.
In late October, authorities banned 1,414 porn works. About 30,000 Web links to the banned works were closed.
In June, the government ordered all new personal computers after July 1 to carry "Green Dam-Youth Escort" filtering software.
The software was declared "not compulsory" in August after it aroused huge controversy. Internet users accused it of privacy invasion and blocking information.
