42 saved from Henan coal mine after accident

EIGHT workers have been confirmed dead, and 42 already lifted out of central China coal mine by 9am this morning. Rescuers are working to lift the rest 3 trapped miners, after a rock burst at a central Chinese coal mine, rescue headquarters said this morning.

The headquarter corrected the previous calculation after finding four more miners dead and another one rescued and sent to hospital earlier.

A rock burst occurred on Thursday evening in the Qianqiu Coal Mine in the city of Sanmenxia.

At that time, 75 miners were working in the shaft, of whom four were immediately killed and 22 managed to escape or were pulled out alive as of yesterday.
