FIVE Chinese nationals were among the 37 people who died in an attack on a Manila casino hotel on Friday, the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines has confirmed.
One was from the Chinese mainland, the others from Taiwan.
Embassy officials said they had been in contact with local police and the hotel since the incident took place.
The embassy expressed its concern and asked the Philippine side to speed up investigation. It also extended deepest condolences to the victims and said it would provide assistance to relatives.
