5 dead, 9 injured in China village killing spree

Five villagers were killed and nine others were injured in an attack in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Friday morning, local police said.

The public security bureau of Dai-Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture of Dehong Prefecture said the murders happened at about 7 am in Gazhong Village of Zhefang Township. It described the injured as having been "slashed."

Police have captured the suspect, a local villager. The victims include the suspect's family members.
