5 scientists revolve around the sun
Five minor planets have been named after Chinese scientists Tu Youyou, winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Zheng Zhemin, a founder in the field of explosion mechanics, Zhang Cunhao, a pioneer in molecular reaction dynamics, Xie Jialin, founder of particle accelerators in China, and Wu Liangyong, architect, city planner and educator.
The five minor planets were discovered between 1995 and 1999 by the Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program at the Xinglong observation station in north China.
Minor planets are objects which orbit the sun but are not planets or comets.
