A chemical accident killed five workers yesterday at an industrial zone in Heilongjiang Province, local authorities said today.
Eight workers were hospitalized after the accident at the Leather Industrial Zone in Zhaoyuan County, Daqing City of the northeast Chinese province.
Five of the workers died in hospital. The three others are in stable conditions.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
