6 dead, 4 injured in cave house collapse in Shaanxi

SIX people were killed and four more injured after a cave house collapse last night in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, local government said today.
The accident occurred at about 10:30pm yesterday in Liangjiata Village in Dianta Township of Shenmu County, the township government said in a press release.
The collapsed cave buried 10 people, including four family members and six construction workers who were hired to build a new house for the family, the press release said. Cave houses are common in remote areas in Shaanxi.
At about 2am today, rescuers found the victims from the debris: one was found dead at the scene, while the remaining nine were rushed to hospital. Five more died despite medical workers' efforts.
No other details were available at the moment.
