6 die in building blaze

SIX people died and another two were injured in an apartment fire in east China's Zhejiang Province, police said yesterday.
The fire broke out on the building's first floor at 9:40pm on Friday and spread quickly to the top of the five-story building in Taiping township, Wenling City. It was brought under control by 11:40pm.
The victims included four women and two men. The two injured were being treated in hospital, local officials said yesterday.
Police evacuated more than 10 residents to a local hotel because their homes were gutted. Officials were yesterday investigating the cause.
