63 Guangxi villagers suffer food poisoning
CHINA Radio Network reported today that 63 villagers in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were poisoned after eating spoiled food.
They were among the 100 or so villagers attending a banquet hosted by a family in Guoliang Village, Liujiang County on April 22. The 63 villagers reported the symptom of diarrhea and vomited the next day.
About 53 villagers went to the hospital for treatment but none was in a serious condition.
The cause of the food poisoning is still under investigation but a Liujiang Health Bureau official named Zhang Xushen said the banquet food had been left in the family yard overnight and became spoiled, which caused food poisoning.
