8 Chinese buried in Haiti quake rubble
EIGHT members of China's peacekeeping force in Haiti were buried under rubble and more than 10 people were missing in a major earthquake that hit the Caribbean island nation today.
There are 125 Chinese peacekeeping forces in Haiti. Six of them are women, Xinhua news agency reported.
China has sent a rescue team to Haiti, including medical staff, specialist quake rescuers and engineers.
The magnitude 7.0 earthquake, the most powerful to hit Haiti in a century, has toppled the presidential palace and many government buildings.
The quake is expected to claim thousands of lives.
