8 Taiwan tourists die
FIVE Taiwan tourists died when their cruise boat collided with another vessel yesterday in Vietnam's scenic Halong Bay.
Thirteen other tourists were rescued after the accident, Vietnam TV reported. It didn't mention the crew's fate.
Hospital Authorities said one of the victims was a 9-year-old girl.
Halong Bay is visited by thousands each year on mostly small cruise vessels.
Meanwhile in the Philippines, three Taiwan tourists drowned and 27 were rescued as a boat capsized near the resort island of Boracay yesterday.
