8 killed in NW China traffic accident

EIGHT people were killed and another 15 were injured in a traffic accident in northwest China's Qinghai Province yesterday evening.

The accident happened at about 6:30pm in Xinghai County of Qinghai, where a heavy sling cart driving from Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Golog got out of control and crashed into several other moving vehicles.

Five people died at the scene and another three died later in hospital. The 15 injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
