Actor Ko detained for taking drugs

Taiwanese actor and singer Kai Ko has been detained by police for taking drugs, Beijing Times reported today.

The story originally broke on Weibo, with a microblogger going by the name of “Xu Hang” posting a message that Ko had been caught by police for drug use. The microblogger also said his father had interrogated Ko.

Beijing reported that the Weibo post was true.

Ko's agent said she couldn’t contact him as the 23-year-old is on holiday.

Taiwan media reports said entertainer Jaycee Fong, son of action film star Jackie Chan, was with Ko at the time. Fong's agent also said she couldn’t contact her client.

Beijing Times did not confirm the information about Fong.

Ko shot to fame as the lead in the film “The Girl We Sought For in Those Days.”
