Adopted sisters return to China to find biological parents

TWO abandoned Chinese sisters who were adopted at a young age by an American woman are looking for their biological parents in China.

The Changde City Welfare Center, which cared for the sisters before they were adopted, in Hunan Province said their parents might be from Pengshui or Qianjiang districts in Chongqing Municipality, Chongqing Economic Times reported today.

"We are sorry for bringing you trouble due to our birth. But we believe you are always concerned about us and we miss you so much," wrote the sisters, who are now aged 15 and 11.

Bonnie, their foster mother in New Hampshire, adopted the elder sister in 1998 and the younger one three years later without knowing they were sisters. Since the girls looked more alike as they grew, she suspected they might be sisters and took them to do a DNA test.

The DNA test proved they were sisters. "It's a miracle," Bonnie told the newspaper, adding she felt angry that the mother could abandon two daughters.

"I don't plan to bother their biological parents. I just want to show pictures to them and let them know the girls really miss them," Bonnie added. "Both of them are healthy and live happily now." They live in New Hampshire.

Anyone with information that can help the sisters can call 966965, the report said.
