Agriculture minister appointed in reshuffle

FORMER Governor of Jilin Province Han Changfu was appointed the new agriculture minister by China's top legislature yesterday.
The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress voted to appoint Han as agriculture minister.
Former Minister of Agriculture Sun Zhengcai became the Party chief of Jilin Province as the Communist Party of China Central Committee last month reshuffled provincial leaders.
The NPC also appointed four vice chairmen to its special committees.
Xu Guangchun, former Party chief of Henan Province, and Chu Bo, former Party chief of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, were both appointed vice chairmen of the NPC Financial and Economic Affairs Committee.
Former Chongqing Mayor Wang Hongju and former Liaoning Party chief Zhang Wenyue were both appointed vice chairmen of the NPC Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee.
