Air China First Off Blocks
Air China yesterday became the first domestic carrier to resume some flights from China to Europe as the volcanic ash from Iceland showed no sign of disappearing.
The airline restored flights linking Beijing with Moscow, Rome and Stockholm, it said. However, it also cancelled flights to London, Paris, Madrid and Frankfurt yesterday and the flight to Frankfurt today.
China Eastern Airlines canceled all its flights to destinations in Europe yesterday and today. The company operates flights to London, Paris, Frankfurt and Moscow.
China Southern Airlines canceled flights from southern Guangzhou to Amsterdam and Paris until Friday. It expects to resume flights to Europe on Saturday.
