Air China introduces self-service luggage check-in
AIR China's travelers can cut their check-in times at a Beijing airport as the country's flag carrier leads the country to introduced self-service luggage check-in today.
At the Terminal 3 building of Beijing Capital International Airport, domestic Air China passengers just have to input the number of the luggage pieces on the CUSS machine and it will print a luggage pass.
Passengers attach the pass to their luggage then leave it at Air China's luggage counter, Zhang Lan, Air China's vice president told the Sina.com.cn today.
Each passenger is allowed to check in a maximum of three pieces of luggage. But the service is not open to babies, children and handicapped customers who need special aids.
More than 400 passengers tried the new service during a trial in the past week and the luggage check-in time was cut from average 57 seconds to 17 seconds, Air China data indicated.
