Airbus A380 deployed on Beijing-Amsterdam route
CHINA Southern Airlines started on Saturday to run Airbus A380 superjumbo on the route linking Beijing with Amsterdam of the Netherlands, said Cheng Yong, general manager of the airlines' Beijing branch.
The Beijing-Amsterdam flight is the first international route between China and Europe operated by Chinese airlines with A380 aircraft, replacing A330 planes.
The airlines will fly the A380 superjumbo on the Beijing-Amsterdam route for one flight per day until Oct. 24 before the slack season comes in Europe.
After Oct. 24, the A380 will shift to serve in the Guangzhou-Sydney route, according to the airline company.
Airbus A380, a four-engine jet airliner with 506 seats, is known as the world's largest passenger airliner.
China Southern Airlines is the first operator of the A380 in China and the seventh globally.
