All trapped children rescued after upper-floor kindergarten caught fire

A kindergarten in Ningde, southeast China's Fujian Province, caught fire this noon, causing some children to be rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, local media reported.

It's unclear yet how many children were inside the kindergarten when the fire broke out. Videos shot on the scene showed some children were being helped out from the second floor of the building, where the facility was located, during rescue efforts.

Several children were once trapped inside but all had been rescued.

The fire was believed to have started from a flower shop on the ground floor while the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The condition of the children affected remained unclear at present.

The fire had been put out by press time.
