Angry Birds attack players with a twinge of sadness
ANGRY Birds, a popular and addictive game on iPhones, iPads and other touchscreen devices, may depress players, a US consulting firm, AYTM, announced recently.
Angry Birds players use suicidal bird bombers to kill pigs. It is so funny and entertaining that players easily get addicted to it and many may even feel depressed after prolonged play of the game, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
According to AYTM, more than 5 percent of the players it surveyed said they felt blue after playing Angry Birds. Single players are more likely to feel sad and their irritability level is two-and-a-half times higher than normal players because the game is a little bit violent.
AYTM estimated that Angry Birds players worldwide have spent a total of 200 million minutes on it, equal to 380 years. More than 120 of the 1,000 respondents who had played the game over 25 times admitted that they were reluctant to uninstall the game.
