Another railway official held in corruption probe

A Hohhot Railway Bureau official in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is being probed by disciplinary inspectors as the anti-graft investigation widens in the railway sector.

Liu Biao, a deputy director in the bureau, is suspected of engaging in illegal trade of rail carriages and project subcontracting, an insider with the bureau told The 21st Century Business Herald.

Liu hasn't shown up in his office for more than one month and he has been substituted by someone else, the insider said.

Since the former railway minister Liu Zhijun was arrested last February for severe violation of discipline, several senior railway officials have been investigated for corruption, the report said.
