App could make learning piano smarter
A NEW partnership, along with a music learning app involving artificial intelligence (AI), has been announced by the People鈥檚 Music Publishing House and smart piano vendor TheOne.
TheOne, whose investors include classical piano star Lang Lang, offers users pianos that can connect to smartphones or iPads with online learning technologies. The publishing house provides professional music education resources.
Both want to establish a system that integrates traditional music learning with the information technology sector.
Their partnership will help give people users in undeveloped regions equal access to high-quality resources. Meanwhile, it will popularize music education nationwide, said Ye Bin, chief executive of TheOne, which has over 200,000 users.
The smart music learning market is growing rapidly in China with telecom carriers offering real-time video and remote education thanks to high-speed network connections.
The State Council predicts the value of the nation鈥檚 core AI industries will exceed 150 billion yuan (US$22.7 billion) by 2020 and 400 billion yuan by 2025, covering the manufacturing, education and finance sectors.
