Aspiring James Bond

A MILLIONAIRE in south China drove a Porsche, flew a helicopter and finally hunted down two fleeing bag snatchers with the help of police using his motorboat yesterday.

The businessman surnamed Liu, who is an owner of several restaurants, was driving home in his luxury car with his son and private helicopter pilot in the evening when he saw two men riding a motorbike suddenly snatched a pedestrian's bag in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.

Without hesitation, Liu stepped on the gas and chased the duo at full speed, forcing them off their bike.

Liu's son and his driver quickly nabbed the one with the bag when he tried to climb a hill, reported Guangzhou Daily yesterday.

The other robber desperately jumped into a deep pool and refused to get out.

After reaching an agreement with the police, Liu, also a licensed pilot, flew his helicopter over the pool in a bid to flush out the robber. He still refused to get out even after being hit by huge waves generated by the copter's rotors. The robber finally gave up when he was surrounded by policemen who raced to the scene by motorboats and was detained by the police.
