A CANCER patient who stabbed a surgeon in a Beijing hospital was jailed for 15 years at the Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People's Court on Friday. Wang Baoming was also fined 530,000 yuan (US$84,048). Wang, a 54-year-old throat cancer patient, attacked Xu Wen, a surgeon at Tongren Hospital, on September 15 last year. Wang, who accused the doctor of malpractice during an operation in 2006, stabbed her 18 times in the arms, head and back. Xu's injuries were not life-threatening.
