Authority To Sue 'On Behalf Of China'
CHINA'S maritime authority said yesterday it is ready to sue ConocoPhillips over the Bohai Bay oil spills.
The State Oceanic Administration is set to file a lawsuit demanding compensation for the leaks after choosing a team of lawyers, hopefully before the end of this month, a spokesman for the administration said.
He said 49 Chinese law firms had applied to provide legal assistance in the suit. The SOA's North China Sea branch said it would be filing on behalf of China.
