Baby born after woman and 3 relatives die in car crash

FOUR people, including a pregnant woman who was about to labor, died and two were injured when a car crashed head-on with a taxi in the northwestern Shaanxi Province, but the woman's baby survived.
The woman died despite rescue efforts made by medical staff in a Fugu County hospital, but her baby was delivered through a c-section surgery, local media reported today.
The taxi driver was taking his wife, his two children, his brother and the pregnant sister-in-law to hospital to deliver the baby when their car collided head-on with a SUV on January 27.
The taxi driver surnamed Liu and his daughter survived the accident but the rest in his car were killed.
The SUV was running in the wrong lane at a high speed when it slammed into the taxi, reports said.
The SUV driver, Liu Quanhai, has been detained by police and his car plate was found to be fake.
A policeman who went to investigate the accident was also killed in another road accident later that day.
Chang Haoyuan was hit by a car while he was walking along a road and he died on the spot.
