Bank manager in sex attack probe

A SENIOR manager at a Chinese investment bank is being investigated over claims of sexual harassment.

Ding Lisen, a manager with China International Capital Corp, was said to have tried to force himself on a female intern after work, allegations he has denied.

In its first response to claims made public earlier this week, the bank said it would "properly handle" the incident if the investigation found any part of the allegations true.

It did not specify what it meant by "properly handle," but said the company had always required its employees to abide with the law and social moral standards.

According to a post on weibo.com, Ding was said to have tried to molest the intern in the company's parking lot late at night after she had finished working overtime last Friday.

Ding is said to have persuaded the intern to go to the parking lot by saying he would drive her home.

After she had refused his advances, he tried to force himself upon her, according to the post.

Ding said the allegations were malicious slanders.
