Beijing Airport blast suspect charged
A BEIJING district procuratorate yesterday filed charges against a man suspected of causing an explosion in Beijing Capital International Airport.
The wheelchair-bound man, identified as Ji Zhongxing from east China’s Shandong Province, set off a homemade explosive device outside the airport’s Terminal 3 arrivals exit on July 20, according to the Beijing Chaoyang District People’s Procuratorate.
Ji received arm injuries and a police officer suffered non-serious injuries in the blast.
If he is found guilty of causing an explosion, Ji faces a prison sentence of between three and 10 years.
