Beijing building collapses in blast, killing 1 person
AT least one person died and two others were injured in a blast that ripped through a residential building in Beijing's Chaoyang District around 8:27am this morning, Beijing News reported.
The three-story building collapsed in the explosion and was engulfed by flames. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 10:30am and are still searching for victims.
Initial investigation showed the blast appeared to be caused by a ruptured gas pipe in the building in the Hepingli community.
