Beijing flights return to normal
FLIGHTS at Beijing's Capital International Airport returned to normal this morning after hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled yesterday as heavy fog enveloped northern and eastern China.
Weather conditions have improved significantly and visibility has returned to around 2,000 meters by 9am this morning, meaning airplane arrivals and departures will not be affected, China National Radio reported today.
No passengers have been reported stranded at the airport.
By 6pm yesterday a total of 104 domestic and international flights had been canceled and 121 departures delayed at the airport.
The foggy weather hit nine provinces and municipalities including Beijing, Tianjin, Heibei, Henan, Shandong, Anhui and Jiangsu – cutting visibility to as low as 200 meters in Beijing.
