Beijing man wins 570m yuan lottery
A man in Beijing has won as much as 570 million yuan (US$89.4 million), becoming the biggest ever lottery winner on the Chinese mainland.
The unidentified man bought 110 or 111 identical Double Color Ball tickets issued by China Welfare Lottery. The exact amount of the windfall will be confirmed when the man comes to claim the money.
A total of 117 top prizes were awarded in yesterday's lottery.
China's previous biggest lottery jackpot was 515 million yuan, which was won by an individual in Zhejiang Province in June 2011.
