Beijing police detain 44 for organizing prostitution
BEIJING police detained 44 suspects for allegedly forced women to engage in prostitution on Monday morning, the local Beijing News reported today.
Beijing police received a tip from a young woman on March 23 who claimed herself was abducted from Shenzhen in southern China to Beijing and was forced to become a prostitute. Soon, a special team was established by Beijing police to conduct investigation.
During the investigation, police found a gang allegedly abducted young women to Beijing in the name of employing waitresses and forced them to be prostitutes. On 5am Monday, Beijing police raided the gang's hidouts simultaneously in Beijing, Chongqing and Shenzhen, capturing all the gang members.
