Beijing-bound flight forced into emergency landing

Suspected engine failure forced a Beijing-bound passenger plane to land in south China's Guangzhou on Monday night.

China Southern Airlines flight CZ3739 made an emergency landing at an airport in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, at 9:40 pm after a technical failure in its left wing, sources with the airline said.

Passengers said the cabin was filled with the smell of burning and started to shake violently after a loud bang.

No casualties were reported.

The flight was from Zhuhai in Guangdong to Beijing.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
