Bet Over Land Prices Proves Costly - And Chilly
A Netizen based in Pingdingshan City in central China's Henan Province ran half naked in the downtown area of the provincial capital of Zhengzhou despite gale-force winds and a minus 2 degrees Celsius temperature. Why? He lost a wager over land prices.
Zhengzhou-based Dahe Daily reported yesterday that the streak was performed last Friday.
Wang Qinqin, a senior sales representative in Pingdingshan, was online on July 15, 2008, and bet another Netizen 5,000 yuan (US$732.15) that the local housing price would drop to 2,600 yuan per square meter by July 2010. If he was wrong, he also vowed to streak three laps of Zhengzhou's Erqi Square.
Land prices rocketed, Wang paid up and performed his run, witnessed by five Netizens.
