A county in northwest China's Qinghai Province was culling poultry, disinfecting farms and banning outsiders yesterday, two days after an outbreak of H5N1 avian flu was confirmed among migratory birds.
More than 100 migratory birds were found dead in Gonghe County, which went on to slaughter 600 domestic birds and is disinfecting every farm to avoid infection.
