Blast damages chemical engineering lab

An explosion was heard in a laboratory at the Changzhou Institute of Engineering Technology today in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China Network InfoNews Television reported on its Sina microblog.

The blast happened on the sixth floor of the chemical engineering department around 11am. The lab was seriously damaged, but no one was hurt since it was empty when the blast occurred, the report said.

Authorities are investigating the incident, according to the report.
