Bodies of 2 people found burned in sports car that erupted in flames
TWO people were found dead in a sports car that caught fire yesterday afternoon in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, the Qianjiang Evening News reported today.
Both victims, a man and a woman, appeared to have been trapped in the red Hyundai sports car when the fire occurred at a remote greenery site near an industrial area in Yiwu, according to witnesses.
Police continued to investigate, but there was not yet any confirmation of when they died or the cause of death.
One body was found in the front passenger seat, its arms outstretched as if struggling to escape, and the other body was in the back seat, according to a witness surnamed Feng who helped firefighters.
Feng said it did not seem like a normal accident, according to the report.
The fire, spotted first by greenery workers, engulfed the vehicle around 2:30pm yesterday, causing a heavy plume of smoke, the report said.
A worker surnamed Wang said few people visit the area and he recalled seeing only the sports car drive in.
