Bomb scare forces Air China plane to make emergency landing

A bomb scare forced an Air China flight to make an emergency landing in central China this afternoon, the nation's flagship carrier said.

Flight CA1336 from Nanning to Beijing was diverted to land in Chongqing around 2pm. It took off at 12:24pm.

SWAT officers were seen boarding the aircraft after it landed. A number of police vehicles, ambulances and fire trucks were parked on the apron, according to photos posted on the Internet.

A passenger on the plane said a woman claimed there was a bomb in the cabin of the aircraft. The woman wanted to commit suicide after her boyfriend ended their relationship, according to the passenger.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
