Bomber given death sentence
A COURT in north China’s Taiyuan City has handed down the death sentence to a man convicted of setting off explosives outside the Communist Party of China headquarters last November.
Feng Zhijun was sentenced to death by the Taiyuan Intermediate People’s Court.
He said he will not appeal, a statement from the court said.
Feng placed bombs in at least two locations outside the compound of the provincial Communist Party committee in Taiyuan on November 6, killing one person and injuring 17, said the statement.
He was apprehended two days later. The 42-year-old had been previously sentenced to nine years in prison for theft, according to the statement.
