Boot camp boss arrested for torture and rape
THE founder of a boot camp for juveniles with behavior problems has been arrested for torturing and raping students despite charging them an annual fee of 50,000 yuan (US$7,940).
Teng Xiaohu, who runs the boot camp in Pujiang County, eastern Zhejiang Province to help youngsters get rid of Internet addiction and develop interest in study, allegedly forced three girls to offer him massage by turns every night and sexually assaulted them, local media reported.
Teng also forced them to lie on the cold floor and poured cold water on them if he was not satisfied their massage, the City Express reported today.
The 54-year-old man was accused of beating nine students with an electroshock baton, forcing them to lick feces and doing heavy exercises every day. Some boys suffered fractures, the boot camp students said.
Teng was jailed several years ago for a fight in a martial arts school and he threatened his students not to disclose his criminal past to their parents, the paper said.
He even asked parents to bring him cigarettes and alcohol on holidays and coerced students to ask for thousands of yuan from their homes as monthly expenses and seized their money afterwards.
Nine students decided to escape this week, but only one boy and two girls succeeded. One of the escaped girls was accompanied by her father to report their sufferings to the police. The escaped boy is still missing, the paper said.
