Border police seize 63km of 'ice' and 9 traffickers
CHINESE border police in southwest China's Yunnan Province smashed a close-knit drug trafficking ring last Thursday, seizing 63 kilograms of "ice" and nine suspects, China National Radio reported today.
After ten days of undercover investigation, the police identified all the ring members and busted the largest drug trafficking case in the province so far this year.
Police said the ring members came from central Hunan Province and local Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. They smuggled methamphetamine, also known as "ice," by trucks.
Their criminal activity came to light when two ring members were caught in the border town of Jinghong in Yunnan on November 6.
All the suspects are waiting for their trial.
