Bounty for Nanjing murder suspect raised

POLICE today increased by 50,000 yuan -- now totaling 150,000 yuan -- as reward for anyone offering tips or information on a male suspect who shot and robbed a man in front of a bank in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, on Friday.

Nanjing police also publicized additional details about the suspect who is reportedly also wanted for the murders of six people in Changsha, capital of Hunan province, and in the southwestern city of Chongqing. He has been wanted since April 2004.

The suspect is in his forties, between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall and of medium build. He has dark skin and speaks Mandarin with Sichuan dialect. The suspect, who may have served in the army, rarely talks to others even when buying breakfast and likes to surf the Internet. He wears cap, sunglasses and gloves and takes buses, police said.
