Boy, 4, seriously injured by dad who threw him into garbage

A MAN was detained for beating his four-year-old son and throwing him into a garbage bin in Baiyun District of Guangzhou, Southern Metropolis Daily reported today.
The boy was seriously injured and was treated for bleeding in the brain, but was recovering, doctors said.
A man was seen choking a little boy, with his hands around the boy’s neck, on the sidewalk at about 5am on January 18. The man ran away with the boy in his arms, with the boy’s hands hanging down limply, witnesses said.
He threw the boy into a garbage container and shoveled trash over him, according to a cleaner surnamed Chen.
Witnesses called police and the boy was sent to a nearby hospital.
Chen said the man appeared to be drunk. She said she understood that the man took out his anger on his son after his wife ran away, the newspaper reported.
Doctors said the boy was awake now and appeared to be doing better.
