Boy held over death of infant in car
PROSECUTORS in eastern Anhui Province have approved the arrest of a 16-year-old boy who allegedly killed a baby after throwing stones at the car the infant was travelling in.
The boy, with the pseudonym Xie Xiaojun, and two teenage friends threw stones at cars driving on the Hexu Highway from a footbridge above the expressway on the night of April 6, Xin'an Evening News reported yesterday, citing police in Feidong City.
One of the stones crashed through the windshield of a sedan and hit a baby. The baby later died in hospital, the report said.
Xie later confessed during questioning, according to the report.
