Boy's hand chopped off by mom’s boyfriend
A MAN has been detained on suspicion of chopping off the hand of his girlfriend’s son, police said in Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province.
Doctors said the 10-year-old boy had his right hand cut off. He was sent for emergency treatment in the wee hours of yesterday. He is in stable condition but his hand, found in a cup filled with hot water, couldn’t be reattached.
Police said the 30-year-old suspect surnamed Wang had money disputes with the boy’s mother, local Chinese Business Morning View reported today.
The incident occurred at a hotel in Tiexi District. A hotel worker said they had lived there for about two months. They claimed they were a family of three and their house was being renovated, she told the newspaper.
The worker said the boy’s mother was in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, yesterday.
Police said the boy was unwilling to blame Wang and refused to give any details. “He is a nice person. He treats me well,” the boy said, and called Wang “father.”
